MEET THE TEAM

YIJIE GE @dstrengthcondo

Yijie is a founding partner of Davis Strength and Conditioning.  He grew up in Ames, Iowa and moved to Davis in 5th grade adopting Davis as his home town. He graduated from Davis Senior High School in 2003 and continued his education at UC Davis with a bachelors degree in exercise biology.  While at UC Davis, Yijie furthered his interest in strength and conditioning at Velocity Sports Performance in Rancho Cordova. In 2008, Yijie decided to pursue a master's degree in Kinesiology from Saint Mary's College of California in Moraga.  While at Saint Mary's College, Yijie assisted in the strength and conditioning department while also working as a corporate fitness professional for the HealthFitness corporation.

Yijie returned home to Davis and served as the strength and conditioning coach and Co-Head Coach of the Davis High school football program for about 8 years. Recently retired from coaching on the gridiron, he is spending most of his time at the gym training various athletes and population groups. He likes to say we train everyone from 15 years old to 85 years old.  He has trained many D1/D2/D3 athletes and specializes in sports performance.

Yijie believes that progression and regression are part of any exercise program.

“It is the coach's responsibility to limit or eliminate regression by teaching proper technique and exercise advancements, building from the basics first.”

Aly Lodigiani @aly_loodi

Hey y’all! My name is Aly Lodigiani (she/her) and I am an NASM Certified Personal Trainer working here at DStrength. My lifting experience started about 7 years ago when I got to come to DStrength to be coached by Yijie and Drew for water polo. Since then, my love for all things strength training has only grown. 2 years ago, I began focusing on powerlifting specific training and recently set 3 Junior National records in the sport.

Outside the gym, I am a 4th year student at UCD studying Cognitive Neuroscience and Cell Biology. I love all things mental health stigma reduction (and generally speaking psychology). This passion has led me to work on a project to develop higher quality diagnostic tools for schizophrenia, and also volunteer as a Harm Reductionist.

Some other random tidbits about me include:

• Enjoying horse back riding

• Owning a little mutt named Chuck (who you will likely see around the gym)

• I have played water polo for 7 years and was a competitive swimmer for 9 years

Matt Myong @mattmyong

Hi my name is Matt Myong. I am NASM certified personal trainer I started lifting 9 years ago. My journey into strength began in the high school weight room. I used to specialize in powerlifting(bench, squat, and deadlift), but right now I am taking a detour for oly lifting(cleans n jerk and snatch). I still enjoy powerlifting and am open to program, coach, and handle for any powerlifters. I truly believe anyone can achieve their strength or fitness goals and I want to help them do it.

Fun facts about me

⁃ I have eaten 6 double doubles in 5 minutes

⁃ I am currently in a race to see who can squat 600 or deadlift 600 pounds first
